The project includes the foundations for the preparation of the new Nursing Hospital of the University Medical Centre Maribor (hereinafter NBO UKC MB) on Slivniško Pohorje. The location of the new NBO is planned in the existing building of the current Department of Pulmonary Diseases. The building was constructed in the mid-20th century, between 1949 and 1955. The presumed author of the building is architect Vinko Glanz. The building was completed in 1981 and partially renovated in 2010.

The existing premises do not meet the program requirements of the new Nursing Hospital and the modern guidelines for the construction of facilities. The renovation of the building must ensure suitable spaces for the new NBO program and, given the possibilities of the current condition, meet the standards and regulations for the facility and its activities.

The program of the new Nursing Hospital will be placed in the existing spaces with the necessary modifications, renovation of installations, and energy rehabilitation, based on the functional design of the new program. The placement of the new program will need to follow the structure of the existing building, as allowed by it.

The basement of the building is planned to house changing rooms, storage rooms, technical rooms, and a mortuary. In the upper floors and attic, the northern tract is intended for entrance, common areas, employee spaces, outpatient clinics, and therapy rooms. The connecting and southern tracts are primarily for patient rooms with their associated spaces. Installation spaces for mechanical installations are located above the northern tract in the attic.

The appearance of the building is largely preserved, especially all the quality and protected elements of the building. An annex with an elevator is added to the existing building to meet the functional and safety requirements of the new nursing hospital. The exterior is arranged, with the cleaning and maintenance of the rich green surroundings, where a path with rest and rehabilitation areas is planned. A new structure of parking spaces and driveways is also arranged.
